January -   PREY is coming out on DVD January 30th.  If you get a chance check it out at Blockbusters or Netflix.  My
twelve year old brother enjoyed PREY very much.  I am going to voice over  Eye of the Dolphin the first of February. I am
hoping to be cast for this "NAMELESS" project I have been eyeing for a while.  So cross your fingers for me.   I got to see
the director's first cut of Gracie and I am very pleased with the movie. I can't wait to share it with everyone in June.  I also
found out that I might be doing some promos with David Beckham....  Now that would be outstanding! I have also
experienced (for the first time) - going to Varsity basketball games.  It is so much fun.  The student yell and the energy of
the games are so high that students are always just on the edge of being out of control. Good times and team spirit.
GO GREEN!!!!

February - I have doing a lot of surfing lately.  I really enjoy getting out there and chillin.  It is so peaceful and the locals
are extremely nice to me. I went to a lot of pre-Oscar parties with my cousin Brad.  We had a blast.  Eye of the Dolphin
had two major wins last night at the International Family Film Festival.  It won for "Best Drama" and "Best Child Actor."
Everyone that worked on Eye of the Dolphin should be extremely proud of their hard work.

March - On April 11th Elizabeth Shue and I are going to present at the Billy Awards (that is like the Oscars for women's
sports). I just found out that I will be touring the whole month of May around the United States to promote GRACIE.  I am
going to a different city each day.  I went to the LA fashion show on Friday with my boyfriend.  It was very fun and
interesting. It wasn't your typical runway fashion show.  It mirrored art where the models were like mannequins... some
were ironing... some playing poker... some just sitting in cars.  It was cool.   I have been doing photo shoots and
interview for Gracie.  Here is what is coming up- Nylon Mag. in May - Teen Vogue in June- Teen Mag in June- Interview
Mag. in June or July - Playsoccer in July.  I flew into Vegas for ShoWest on Monday.  Now that was a good time.  I
introduced Gracie to the theater owners.  The screenings went extremely well.  I was also lucky enough to have a room
at the top of the Bellagio, so I was able to watch the implosion of the Stardust at 2:30 in the morning. Eye of the Dolphin
has won more awards.  WOO HOO!

April - Happy Easter everyone..... It is a day to celebrate.  On a different note, I finally went out and bought a car.  Now I
have to learn how to drive it.  I am hoping to do a road trip over spring break. Picturehouse is going to be taking over my
MYSPACE soon because I will be going on tour to promote GRACIE around the United States.  They are going to show
clips on MYSPACE of what I am doing and where on this planet I am roaming.  It sounds like a blast.  So if I turn my
camera on you..... make sure you say you love my movie!!!!!!  I did some GRACIE promos for Channel ONE today and
an interview with Girl's Life mag.   Also on GL online there will be a flip book of Eye of the Dolphin with my personal
thoughts. 4/29 Wow!  I started the Gracie tour across America. I visited Atlanta, St. Louis, and Houston this week. What
a great feeling to get out there and meet so many nice people.  It just reinforces that we live in  a great country.  Next
weeks we are going to Boston, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, DC, Detroit, and Seattle, Dallas, Denver, LA, San Francisco,
New York, New Jersey and Chicago.  MySpace is now under CarlySchroeder; instead of Carlyschroeder2006.  Well,
really I think it is under both places.

May - 5/30 I met a lot of wonderful people along the way on this tour.  I feel very blessed to have gotten the chance to
meet people I would have never known. I would like to say thank you to all of you that came out to see the screenings of
GRACIE.  We had a great time didn't we!  The kindness across the United States was overwhelming, and it felt good to
hear people cheer and clap for the final moments of the movie.  The crowds truly enjoyed the experience.

June -   I finished the tour and Gracie hit the theaters.  We just could not compete with Pirates, green monsters, and
spiders.  I have received so many letters, e-mails, and messages disappointed that the movie didn't stay in theaters
long enough.  I am sorry if you missed the chance to see Gracie.  Just bad timing.  It will be out on DVD in September
sometime. I have to say what disappointed me was that this was a great family film that had a lot to offer, and only a
million people got to see it.  If I had the power I would send it to every household for free; but I don't have that kind of
power. I finished school.... woo hoo... I am now a Jr. in High School.  Eye of the Dolphin is coming out in theaters in
August.

July - Also I do talk to people on myspace.. look up Carly Schroeder. If you have a question ask, I try to answer back
within a week.  http://www.alloy.com/5/43/3739/1/ref/archive/5/43/  Check out this site on Alloy.com .  I shot this in
Central Park.  It was a blast!!!!  On Saturday I got to see the final draft of Eye of the Dolphin. They added some awesome
outtakes at the end of the movie.   I am very pleased with the final product. It does have a PG-13 rating because I smoke
and drink at the beginning of the in the movie.  It has to be there to show where my character starts and how she
changes during the movie.  I personally do not drink or smoke.  These two factors have to be in the movie to portray real
life situations.  EOD has great life lessons for parents and children. I am amazed that we were able to shoot this whole
movie in only 4 weeks.  Eye of the Dolphin opens in theaters on August 24th.  Wow! I went up to Isleton to the delta for a
4th of July camping trip. It was legit!!!.  We went waterskiing, wake boarding, jet skiing, and then there was tube time.
Tube time was a blast.  Mark took his boat out and whipped us teenagers around on the water at insane speeds. Stef,
cam, and Jeff were amazing the way they hung on even after being flipped. Cabin #5 was so cool.  Bob was a speed
water-skiing champ; he has water-ski at speeds over 100mph.  Now that's crazy!  We hung out with some nice people,
and I made some great friends. I hope to go back again next year.   I'm on my way to see the Dodgers!!!!  GO BLUE!!
Going to see a baseball game is one of my most favorite things to do in life.

August - I was going to just give you this link .... but I wanted to post this because it is that important.  Over the past few
days I have read reviews on Eye of the Dolphin... then I came across this one... BINGO !!  Communication! Please
read.

Eye of the Dolphin (2007) | Review
"For Those With Ears to Hear"
Darrel Manson

In Eye of the Dolphin, Alyssa is a troubled teen. She’s recently lost her mother and is in trouble in school (and wearing
way too much make-up so we know she’s troubled). When her grandmother can do no more for her, she takes Alyssa
to the Bahamas to meet the father she never knew she had (and vice versa). Her father, Dr. James Hawk, is
researching dolphin communication in hope of being able to understand them. Alyssa and her father must find a way to
rescue her life from the edge of catastrophe. Can they each rescue each other from their troubles?

OK, that sounds a lot like some kind of after school special. And in many ways, it is. That isn’t saying anything bad
about it, but it does have a target audience of teens and parents. Such a film may not develop characters and
relationships as fully as other films might, but the film is designed to focus on an issue.

The real issue that is dealt with in the film is communication. Communication and its difficulties are central to the
storyline. The research into communication with dolphins serves to sets the stage for the challenges that the
characters face in their struggles to hear and be heard.

There are many things that get in the way of real communication. One is distraction by other voices. In the film, this is
shown through the ear buds that people use while listening to iPods or earphones that Hawk often wears as he listens
to the dolphins. These shut out other voices. I think the film thinks it’s a good thing that in her first encounter with the
dolphins, they steal Alyssa’s iPod and ruin it.

Yet another obstacle to communication is being too busy. Hawk especially is so consumed with his research that he
doesn’t pay attention to those around him, even those who can help or hinder him. It is always easy to put people off
when we think we’re doing something important. Often, however, we miss something far more important because we
haven’t been ready to listen.

Sometimes we just refuse to listen. Alyssa’s grandmother gave her a stack of letters that Hawk had written to her
mother through the years. They are all unopened. Could what was in those letters have made any difference in their
lives? Not when the words don’t pass from one person to another.

But the film also shows us that communication is possible. Hawk’s girlfriend Tami takes Alyssa to Tami’s mother’s
grave, where she talks to her mother. Here the film begins to tell us that true communication involves a bit of a spiritual
level. Communication is not just hearing, but connecting to the other person.

When Alyssa is asked if she thinks dolphins can talk, she says the problem is, “we just don’t know how to listen right.”
That insight reflects all the issues that challenge the way the various characters hear (or not) one another. Listening is
not just about the words, but in knowing the right way of listening, which involves connecting to one another.

It is that spiritual component to listening that will provide the opportunity for the relationship between Alyssa and her
father to grow and for the problems that they face to be overcome.

We too need to pay attention to our communication, be it with the people around us or our communication with God.
There are always obstacles to our being heard and to our listening. Often Jesus ended a parable by saying, “Let
anyone with ears to hear listen.” He really didn’t mean that listening was a matter only of the ears. He also expects us
to listen with our hearts, where true communication takes place.

Okay this is what is coming up: This Tuesday is the Los Angeles Premiere of Eye of the Dolphin at the ArcLight.  And
guess who will be there?  My friend George Harris.  Many of you know him as Kingsley Shackle bolt from Harry Potter.
And you must admit... he did have the best line in the movie. Well, George is one of the stars in the movie Eye of the
Dolphin, so we are going to hanging out this week doing press and meeting fans.  Friday night (around 7:00 ish) the
24th we are going to the opening of EOD down in Orange.  The theater is called  THE BLOCK 30 IN THE CITY OF
ORANGE, CA.   September 1st I will be down in San Juan Capistrano, CA at the BLUES CUP TOURNAMENT. Good
Luck!  Saturday evening they are going to show GRACIE to the soccer teams and I will be around to meet and greet the
athletes.
Here- I was sent this link by a fan.... check it out. Then send it to a friend or two.  http://www.prxreleases.com/wire/index.

gclid=CKS5kMz48I0CFSKgYAodolf8Mg. The month just started but it is very busy.  Eye of the Dolphin hits theaters on
August 24th.  It is in only 110 select theaters the first week.  http://www.eyeofthedolphinthemovie.
com/contracts/dolphin_locations.php So if it is in your area go see it the first week. .. Because with small independent
movies ... they come and go within a week or two.  If you love dolphins, science, or just the beautiful view of the
Caribbean... this movie has something for you.  If you would like to go to the premiere of EOD then go to the Eye of the
Dolphin myspace and sign up for a contest.    Also, Gracie comes out on DVD on September the 18th.  I am so excited
that Gracie will then be available for everyone to see.  I would like to thank all the wonderful people that came out to all
of the screenings of Gracie.  I truly enjoyed meeting you.  It was my pleasure.

September - I just got back from the Bahamas - While I was at the dolphin facility a  turtle was brought in for health
care.  I got to help repair this beautiful creature.  It had a chunk of meat ripped out of the back of its neck by a gaffer-
hook.  I got to water down and clean the turtle.  Then they let me put iodine (or some like that) on the wound.  This turtle
was huge; it took 3 guys to carry it from the truck to a stretcher, so it could be taken back out to sea. This could possibly
have been the best day of my life.  For more information on how they are trying to save these endangered Sea Turtles
please go to this website.  http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/urge-the-bahamas-government-to-ban-the-catching-and-
killing-of-endangered-sea-turtles  Turtles have rights too! Her face is covered because she was very angry with her
wound.

October - Wow this month is just flying by so quickly.  I went to the homecoming dance with my boyfriend!!!!  It was so
much fun dancing all night and seeing friends all dolled up for the occasion.  I have been modeling for Jessica
McClintock a lot this month. ---I had another birthday.  The big ONE-SEVEN. --Thank you to all the fans that wrote me a
sweet message for my birthday on myspace.  It means so much that you would take time out of your day for me....
Thanks!!!    The wildfires are out of control, and the winds are the strongest I have ever seen here in California.   I just
confirmed an invitation for: The Melbourne Independent Filmmakers' Festival is coming up Nov. 2-3, and organizer
Terry Cronin has announced this year's selections. There were 253 entries, narrowed to 41 selections, including 34
shorts, five features, two previews, 22 Florida films, seven international films, six documentaries and four animated
films.
Showings will be at the Premiere Theaters Oaks Stadium 10; get advance tickets here.
Saturday night at 6 p.m., Nov. 3, is the red carpet event, with a screening of "Eye of the Dolphin," produced by
Melbourne's John Remark.  - --- Hope to see you there!

November - I am working on the surfing, but the waves are nothing to brag about. I have been going to high school
football games on Friday nights and hanging with my friends. The writers are striking so I am living it up as an
American teen.

December - I was asked to participate in a directors work shop. It was intense and exciting all the same time. My big
Christmas giving this year was Hunger for Children. Our family purchased and boxed up food for families here in the
United States that are less fortunate. I liked this project because everything went straight to the families. -I tucked a little
chocolate into each box. In Time Square on the big moving screen by toy r us is a promo for Eye of the Dolphin.
