Carly will host the City of Thousand Oaks Youth Commission’s Annual Therapeutic Dance on Saturday, March 8, 2008.

The themed event, "A Night at the Oscars," will bring out the glitter and glamor to teens thirteen and older. According to TOYC liaison Francine
Sprigel, a special, extremely rare permission was granted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to use the likeness of the award,
the name
"Oscar," and theme for the event.

One of the many challenges faced by teens and adults with disabilities is the lack of opportunities to enjoy the same range of experiences
available to those without disabilities. The Youth Commission has risen to the challenge and has historically shown sustained support for the
needs of young people with disabilities.

In the past, the Youth Commission has been able to provide participants with an unforgettable experience. On arrival, guests enjoy
refreshments and socialization with old and new friends, have their photos taken, and dance the night away! Young adults ages 13 and up with
special needs are invited to the dance which will be held from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.at the
Alex Fiore Teen Center, 1375 E. Janss Road, Thousand
Oaks
. So dress up and come walk the red carpet with Carly for an unforgettable evening of surprises!

This event is possible because of community volunteers and sponsors. If you are a teen in the community and would like to volunteer for this
wonderful event, or would like to find out about sponsoring, please email
youthcommission@toaks.org for additional information.
